Capitec wanted to take its established Sis Thandi anti-scam radio series to screen and create financial-safety content people would choose to watch. Starting with the original illustration and the character audiences already knew from radio, we built an AI presenter for a ten-episode video podcast and its promo campaign. The first full episode was completed in under two weeks, establishing the studio look, character performance and post process for the series.

01 / The challenge

Bring an established radio personality to screen

Sis Thandi already existed as a much-loved illustration and the trusted voice of Capitec’s radio series. Our task was to bring that familiar personality to screen without losing her warmth, humour or credibility. Every generation introduced AI inconsistencies that had to be fixed in post, from facial drift, changing proportions and unstable hair or wardrobe to lip sync, eye lines, hands, microphone intersections and shifting backgrounds. Correcting those details shot by shot allowed Sis Thandi to remain recognisable across ten episodes and carry serious conversations with clarity and empathy.

02 / The approach

Build the character with AI. Make her believable in post.

We treated every generated shot as source material, not a finished image. The original illustration became a practical character model with consistent face, wardrobe and studio references. We planned the edit, reactions and coverage as a real podcast. Then came the post work: roto, masking, mouth repair, eye-line fixes, temporal stabilisation, cleanup paint, tracking, retiming, reframing, colour, grain and audio polish. Each episode also produced its own 6- and 10-second promos, cut for the platform rather than cropped from the master.
